The shaped canvas is both a painting liberated from a traditional rectangular format, and a illlusory sculpture released from the power of gravitation. Its imagery, which is suggestive rather than descriptive, represents an unlimited source of meaning which reaches far beyond its actual pictorial qualities.

My artwork is neither abstract nor representational - it is somewhere in between. It expresses an inner vision of reality; the invisible is made visible through the process of layering colors, textures, forms, and lines. While playing intuitively with the elements, I create emotionally loaded metaphorical images that originate somewhere between observation and knowing.

I metaphorically visualize images from my personal past and reflect my emotions and thoughts. The visual drama of the artwork allows the viewers' participation, unlocks the deepest layers of their own intuition, (evoking a continuously emerging succession of thoughts), and inspires them to interpret these images according to their own cultural heritage and personal experiences.

In seeking balance between the known and the unknown, I communicate my inner world and aim to challenge and provoke the viewers' minds and imagination. Besides their imagery itself, my artworks have intriguing titles that provide the viewers with flexible guidelines and just enough of underlying ideas to begin a process of personal interpretation.
