Regardless of the art medium collage is the basis of all my creative work.
In collage I can take the world apart and reassemble it in the order that is ruled by my emotions and intellect.
Sometimes a material itself - be it a piece of paper, fabric or anything else - can unlock the deepest
layers of memory and invoke feelings that culminate in the form of an artwork.
My collages are my imaginary
VISUAL DIARIES
in which I freely move from one place to another - from the Mediterranean coast through the shady
courtyards of my native Krakow to the deserts of Mexico...

My fiber arts reflect my experience as a painter - while creating a textile collage
I experiment with color, texture, shape and composition as I do in my
SHAPED CANVASES
- transitional artworks which are both sculptures that are perceptually independent of the power of gravitation and paintings that are liberated
from the rectangle of a frame.

For my fiber collages I select a large variety of quality textiles in beautiful textures,
and order many of them to be woven especially for me. I dye the fabrics myself in a wide palette of colors and tones to achieve the same
creative freedom which I have in painting. I work on the complex structure of the collage and transform it until it reaches
its expressive peak, then incorporate it into a classically tailored jacket of my design. The darker and quieter
shape of the garment distinctively frames the expressive richness of the collage resulting in a unique object of
ART TO WEAR, which emanates an atmosphere of mysterious elegance.

My FINE ART TEXTILES
are works of modern art that bridge fiber art, painting and sculpture. Their collages are made
of the same textiles my art to wear is made from; they are filled with wool and foam for volume
and backed with textured viscose blend for finish and durability. Each element is superbly constructed and has its own suspension.
"Temples" series of wall hangings is inspired by the stained glass windows of historic cathedrals of my native Krakow.
Unlike their conceptual sources, the fiber interpretations of these glass masterpieces are not
designed for religious sanctuaries; they are created to bring spirituality to private spaces.

In my
ARCHIVAL PIGMENT PRINTS
I explore the multiple expressive possibilities of shapes, textures and colors
and search for my personal metaphors and symbols. I immerse myself in plentitude of techniques I have on my disposal,
both traditional like pencil drawing and embossing and contemporary like digital photography and imaging; I experiment and
reinterpret the endless variations of compositions I create. As I work I discover new, exciting concepts and techniques that lead me to ideas for future work.
